Campaign Bid Strategy settings in Meta Ads Manager

1.Highest Volume

Meaning:
Meta will try to get maximum results (leads, clicks, conversions, etc.) for your budget without focusing on a fixed cost per result.

How it works

  • The system automatically adjusts bids.

  • Focus = maximum number of results.

Where to use

  • When starting a new campaign

  • When you don’t know the ideal cost per lead

  • For Lead Generation, Awareness, Traffic campaigns

  • When you want more reach and data

Example
Budget = ₹1000/day
Meta tries to generate maximum leads or clicks within ₹1000.

Best for beginners

2. Cost Per Result Goal

Meaning:
You tell Meta the average cost you want per result.

Meta tries to:

  • Keep results around that cost

  • Still generate good volume

How it works
Example:
Cost per lead goal = ₹100
Meta tries to generate leads around ₹100 each.

Where to use

  • When you already know your ideal CPL (Cost per Lead)

  • After running campaigns and collecting historical data

  • For Lead Ads / Conversion campaigns

Example
Digital marketing course lead
Target CPL = ₹120

Meta will try to keep leads around that cost.

⚠️ If goal is too low, delivery may reduce.

3. Bid Cap

Meaning:
You set the maximum bid amount Meta can enter in the auction.

Meta will not bid higher than your limit.

How it works
Example:
Bid cap = ₹80

Meta will never bid more than ₹80 in the auction.

Where to use

  • When you want strict control over costs

  • For advanced advertisers

  • When you know exact market competition

⚠️ If bid cap is too low, ads may not deliver.

After getting data:
👉 Use Cost per result goal (₹100–₹150 per lead)

Avoid Bid cap unless you understand auction competition.

Note:
Most successful advertisers use Highest Volume first because Meta's AI optimizes better.
